Greetings from Iraq

Post by Darkserra » Mon Feb 15, 2010 6:52 am

Just wanted to let everyone know:

1. I'm still in one piece
2. Kuwait and Iraq are still dusty
3. Nothing like the smell of burning petrochemicals and trash in the morning

Seriously, things are much better than my last visit ('03-'04) here. We have a great dining facility run by a contractor and Army cooks, I sleep in a room in a converted 40' container that has its own A/C and heat, and I work in an office inside a huge bunker. Other than the rockets and mortars that the locals send to us from time to time, it isn't bad. :)

The heat hasn't started up yet, but it soon will. We are expected 120-130 (F) temps during the summer months, but right now is actually pretty cold and wet, as its the rainy season here.

My internet is so slow, its laughable, but at least I have it but I doubt it will handle me being able to play NWN.

Anyway, take care all. Give Redda a hug when you see her!

Darkserra

PS, anybody need some sand......?

Good to know you are safe and you got there alright. Keep us posted and at least maybe post us updates from time to time.

Seriously, Redda, if you need anything. PM us and we will do our best.

Hello All!!

I'm still kicking around in Southern Iraq!

Just wanted to say hello and let everyone know I'm still around...locals are still sending us their left over rockets and mortars from time to time, and Iraq is experiencing the hottest summer on record. We've been seeing 140s in the direct sun, high 120's in the shade. It figures that I would show up when the heat is really been turned on.

I go on leave in 60 days or so. I'm really looking forward to it and hopefully I'll be home by the end of the year.

Take Care,

Darkserra
