selling crafted items

I came from another server that had a heavy crafting component to it, so I realize questions about resale value of crafted items can be a bit controversial at times. My first day on was today and I crafted Padded Armor. I went to sell it to try and pay for a bow, only to find it would ony be bought by Clare for 1gp. Is this intentional?

I was hoping for at least 3-4 gold considering the cost of materials put into the finished product. I know there is always the distinct danger of people getting rich really fast using this method, so I understand if this low price is intentional.

Islands is intended to be a barter economy rather than a gold one, and we are still balancing the stores as we are still in Beta. hope this helps
