trouble accessing ysgard.org with firefox

Post by Akai » Mon Jun 15, 2009 8:18 pm

Just a couple days ago I switched to mozilla firefox, since internet explorer had begun regularly crashing every time I tried to check my mail. But since then, I haven't been able to log onto the forum at ysgard.org from this computer; when I go there, it offers me "log in" as an option, and I click on that and enter my user name and password, and then it returns me to the home screen offering "log in" as an option again. Tried refreshing a lot, and (with Arkon's help) clearing my cache; made no difference. Anyone using firefox to access ysgard.org, and if so, is there any special trick you need to do so? Thanks for any help!

Check to make sure your security is accepting cookies. That's the only idea I have.

I know since the majority of the internet is made for IE, you have to have somethign called an emulator to view some websites with firefox. Maybe you need one of those. They are found in the add-on section. I think....

Here is what I was talking about.

As for your IE crashing out all the time. i had a similar problem a year ago and finally figured out it was my Norton Antivirus blocking IE for some reason. So you may want to check your to see if your virus protection is blocking somethign it shouldn't be.

Finally gave up on trying to get onto Ysgard with Firefox; but pulled IE out of the recycle bin, and after some trying, was able to get it to let me log in (whew!). So now I just have to remember to use IE for Ysgard and Firefox for everything else, and that (knock wood) ought to work... thanks for the advice!

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but IE is now running version 8, from what I've seen on varius forums seems after IE 8 was put out to be uploaded, Microsoft had some recent updates afterwards. Not sure but maybe some of the updates were meant for IE 8 and you updated them by accident? I am running 8 and not encountered any trouble but from people say that are having trouble are still running the old versions.

I only use firefox and I have had no issues logging into ysgard.org with it.

My main recommendation would be to clean out your cache and possibly clear out your cookies.
