Every time I log on, my chars get pick pocketted. They both have a 15 in spot. Is this a PC, DM, or a bug???
It has reached a geifing level. I would like this to stop so I may play with out having to see if I have anything left in my inventory before every battle.

Can you add some details e.g. is there written anything in the text windows, how do you regocnise that you have been pick pocketed..etc.
Furthermore is 15 in spot not that high...if it comes down to a DM possesed creature.
Can not speak for other DMs but:
I didn't do it... *grins and hugs Bart*

When it comes to spot for pickpocket a fairly high number of points needs to be invested. If for instance we take Dae who is not very high in hide at all with 48. To have a remote chance rolling a 20 then you would need spot of 28 to see her. I know of one character on Avlis (ranger class) who can get hide to over 100 with move silent at nearly 100. This person can only be seen by someone with high spot and augmented by a true seeing spell or equivalent potion. NWN True Seeing will also work if in dragon or wyrmling form. Someone could also use invisibility but that can be negated by a potion.
You had mentioned scrolls missing from Shelly in the one posting. I did see a few stacks of scrolls in one of the common chests.

well it's not a DM. Now PC thieves are allowed to pick pocket, HOWEVER I am going to put down a rule here. If you pick someone's pocket you need to take a break before you hit them again..you shouldn't be cleaning someone out every chance you get. Also remember the nwn engine has a lot of flaws, pick pocketing is one of them. Now I think the scripts are in the stop you from stealing anything large, but if you are able you should only be able to steal small items, I don't care how good you are, you cannot seal a suit of armor out of someone's pack without them knowing.

I'll check the scripts tonight to make sure they are working right.

Terry, last I recall reading on the avlis forums the code stops you from stealing anything larger than two or is it 4 squares in inventory. Unfortunately it also had a flaw in that plot keys could also be removed. In this case the key was to be returned OOCly to the person. They also posted that this could be avoided by using a save location or transitioning.

Are PCs supposed to set Hostile before any pickpocket attempt is made as well?

shelly lost 77 items at one time:
10 potions heavenly heal
10 lightning scrolls
10 flame arrow scrolls
20 lesser restoration scrolls
1 quiver
2 traps
10 masterwork arrows
1 arrow of flesh to stone
shadow bood used to read the rune in old town(a plot item)
10 fire arrows
my main weapon: dissolving long sword.
Thata alot to lose for one pass at pick pocketing.
occ: no message appeared that i lost item. And only 1 PC was near me.

Yes one PC was near you, Lomir, who cannot pickpocket because he didn't put points in pickpocket. This happened to me once before, but with a shield only. It just dropped out of my inventory, never to be found again. That's why I don't really put much in bags anymore, I don't want to risk losing things. Just because you lost that much doesn't instantly mean someone pickpockets you.

Ok guys. Enough of the forum accusations. If this carries on I am going to start deleting posts. The rules forum clearly states that the boards are not the appropriate place to complain about other players
If you have any issues with other players actions please PM me. I check my account multiple times a day so it will get read and dealt with.
Jet - Pickpocketing 77 items in one session is going to take a very long time, as you can only take a single item / stack at a time.
Pickpocketing also requires successful move silently vs listen and hide vs spot checks every turn.
