Might be an idea to add a floaty text like 'Taking all roots you destroy the plant' whenever someone takes all roots, causing the plant to disappear, when gathering ingredients.

There is already a server message if you kill a plant by over harvesting.

A floating text (like one gets with Sneak Attack) just seemed more noticable to me.
The server message is less so as it's among the 'Aquired: Ingredient X' messages.
Nice idea. Can we actually ~make~ custom floaty text messages? I don't know if I've ever seen one.

There's no need for it to be "floaty" and each plant type can be configured with its own custom message. Most use the default though.

Can we make trees that you can harvest from more noticeable? Especially the new trees like the Spruce? So far it has been a guessing game.

+1 on this.

Not that it's much of a problem once you know what trees to look for, but even then there are harvest-able trees that can be missed if you're not scouring every inch of an area. Since miners aren't having to walk up to random rocks to try and discover if it's an ore they can collect, the carpenters of the world sure would be glad to have the same ease of identification other crafts have.
