Adonis Silvermane was named after the god in Greek mythology. Universal comparisons can be made between the Wemic(When he was first created) and the mythological deity, both mentally and physically.

Thanasius Black --I was looking up words for "death" on an online name dictionary and I found Athanasius which means 'immortal'. It comes from the greek word thanatos and I used that as the basis. Black just seemed to fit. He was a pretty grim guy.

Rebecca Kismet --The whole time I was playing Thas there was another character-psyche in the back of my mind plotting and scheming! Originally the name was pitched as an alias, should Thas ever get his body-swap. :? But then I realized it wasn't a name Thas would ever pick! It belonged to this other character-psyche! I don't really know why becky was chosen. 'Kismet' was a word I'd first heard used while playing Half-Life 2 and listening to the developer commentary! I used it for the last name of another character before --one this new character shares some things in common with. :) Different game though.

"Kismet" is another word for karma/fate. GP's and my first cat we had when we got married was named Kismet. He was a really sweet cat.

Raven, yesssss. That is the best name meaning ever.

Olyphia was based on the name Ophelia, particularly from Shakespeare's Hamlet. There is no resemblance between the characters- Olyphia's personality in her previous incarnations was more along the lines of yellow-belly, backstabbing weasel than mentally unstable maiden- but I liked the play and the name, so boop boop. She wasn't originally supposed to have a last name; had I know I could get by without it, I'd have left it off. But I suppose it'd make sense for her to pick up a last name if she wanted to integrate into Nuvar. Green Cavern is the clan she grew up in, named for it being an extensive cavern with- you guessed it- green moss and slime everywhere.

Selby Thanahain doesn't have a story; I browsed androgynous names because I love those, picked one I liked, and then tried making up a few last names until I found something that fit. Murdock was something he came up with, really. I've no clue where it came from.
