NWN linux client prob pls HELP!

Heya

One reason why I couldn't show up is following problem:

I am running a linux system (Ubuntu 11.04) on a system with a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T and a AMD Radeon 6800.

When ever I start the dmclient it is like being in the old days.... it takes years to load and then it is like one frame per every 5 min. Therefore it takes at least 10 minutes to log in...if I ever manage to hit the right buttons.

But as soon as I am in Gamespy all is good again and the graphics running normal.

Anyone of you got an idea what I have to change or to do?

Not sure but ask Zerub he is pretty good on that sort of stuff and has run across a lot of things like that in past. Hope you get it fixed.

Is it the DM client only? You have all your drivers updated? Not really sure about a lot on the GUI side of Linux, I don't get out of the command prompt too much on all my servers.

Does anyone know how to set up the direct log in on Linux? If you did that I imagine it would bypass the stuff that's slowing you down yeah?

I haven't tried the normal NWN yet. And yes all drivers are up to date. I have made some changes in the nwn.ini and the nwnplayer.ini -> yesterday it seems to work better. Will test it today again.

Try the bioware forums. I know they used to have information like that and there might be a cache to the old forums website.

I have never done the direct login actually, but from what PJ said, the +connect and -connect will not work on linux.

Ok... I do not know what I have done... but it works now As I said I have changed some stuff in the nwn.ini and the nwnplayer.ini.
