With Regret

After a successful start to 2012, it is with regret that I announce the end to Arkaz. The world has had a great run. Terryrayc once told me that Arkaz was his dream, his passion. I think I can speak for the team and all of the players in saying Arkaz has become our dream, and our passion.
It was an inevitable conclusion that a Neverwinter Nights Persistent World would come to an end. While the circumstances surrounding our final demise will never be brought to light, I can say with some level of confidence that we held out for as long and as hard as any.
Now, with the world in its final days, here are some things to lay out on the proverbial table.
I In Character Progression
The Rising Eclipse, the dreaded Frost Elves from distant lands, will be the ultimate demise for Arkaz. Isle after isle will fall till eventually only a select few will remain-valiant heroes represented by our very own players, and a smattering of smaller factions.
At this point, players will have the option of removing their characters to off-world havens(Please see related link, CoPaP: http://www.copap.org/), or the option of staying behind to fight the Rising Eclipse until the very end. Staying behind will result in eventual and permanent death. However, Avlis and Ysgard have both graciously agreed to allow remorts for any players that wish to carry on the story of their permanently killed character in some capacity. Both worlds will allow these remorts under the Arkaz Remort rules. See related thread, remorts: http://www.arkaz.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6350.
Arkaz's final event will begin on June 14th at exactly 6:00 P.M. Eastern time. The lights will turn off at exactly 10:00 P.M. Eastern time. If you want your character to survive this final conflict, please ensure they are off-world by 5:59 P.M. Eastern time, July 14th. If you want to apply for a remort after your character's permanent death, please submit an application to the Arkaz team no later than June 10th.
II Out of Character Progression
With the lights going down, and the curtains finally coming to a close, there are still piles of questions to be answered. If you've ever wanted to see what goes on behind the scenes, we will be accepting Dungeon Master Applications starting now, April 1st until June 13th. If you've ever wanted to know what really happened during any one plot, or if you ever wanted to utterly ravage your fellow players with the Dungeon Master Kill button, this is your opportunity. Please email me at ForsakenPlague@Arkaz.org for an application.
While the servers are going down, I will remind the player base that this is no time to break rules. I still expect each and every one of you to act as courteous as possible, both to the Dungeon Master staff and to each other. See related thread, rules: http://www.arkaz.com/viewforum.php?f=8.
Failure to obey the rules for Arkaz will result in an immediate Vault Jail for the first instance, followed by an immediate banning without review for any additional offenses. Please, in these final days, don't misbehave.
III Final Thanks
It's been an amazing ride. For all the laughs, all the moments of, "That was epic," and for all the tears, I would like to thank, in no particular order, the following Arkaz team members.
