I will be bring the Servers down today to allow for some system upgrades. Mainly the following 2 upgrades

on the DB server I'm replacing the DD3 standalone tape drive with a Sony SDT-9000 drive and a 8 tape autochanger. This will keep me from forgetting to swap the tape everyday...and for those days I"m out of town.

I'm also adding 2 more GB of memory to the main vmware server.

This outage will probably be for several hours and will start at 1pm this afternoon.

And I haven't noticed any of those server access problems at all over the past couple weeks. :-)

Yes, thanks Terry! I haven't had problems connecting to Arakz at all this week! =D

changes were done. The next major upgrade will be the patching on the DB server. It's currently running Redhat EL4 Update 5 and I need to apply the current update and security patches. I'll schedule that in a few weeks.
