[Updates] SimTools v3.1 (language system)
Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2008 5:15 am
SimTools v3.1 is now live on Arkaz.
SimTools is the main set of scripts behind the language system most of you are probably familiar with. SimTools v3.1 brings many enhancements, including new class specific languages (magic, necromantic, psionic), new race specific languages (such as avariel), and some new features which help usability.
For example, if you happen to know the "elven" language, you can speak one line by using (that's a lowercase L at the beginning):
All auto-emotes have now been changed to use @ instead of *. If you want to sit on the ground, for instance, all you need to do is type @sit in the talk channel.
For a full list of commands and details on how to use them, type !help in the talk channel.
We've tested the scripts to the best of our ability, but if anything unexpected seems to be going on be sure to write a bug report in the bug tracker.
Also if there's any language you're not gaining on login that you feel you should be, drop me a PM and I'll get it updated for future releases.
(And a big thanks to Terror2001 for helping test and update certain server files required for the script changes to be able to go live
).
