State of the World

Hello everyone and welcome to another addition of "The State of the
World!!!"

First of all The Island of Nuvar is out of Beta and is in a Live Mode!!

That that means is we've passed the 90% complete mark and feel the
module is able to stand on it's own right now. With that the Isle of Iron
has enter an early Beta...Very Early, and we encourage everyone to check
it out every now and then and provide feedback.

Speaking of Feedback, on behalf of the team I'd like that thank
everyone that has provided the many bug reports, general feedback and
suggestions. The information you all provided aided us in balancing,
correcting and improving Nuvar and we could not have done it without you. So
for that we thank you.

Now onto Linking. The events have already started. The first CoPaP
link will be to Hala, there are several more planned but we are starting
there. The portal is live but we have a few bugs to work out, on their
end mostly I think, and should be live in a month or so.

Custom races are in. We currently allow 5 different races. They can
be taken from the CC golem in the start tent on the Isle of Iron.
Future races are on the table but no decision has been made as to which ones
will be included and which ones will not.

Current systems in development:

Disease system is live, currently making new Diseases.
Death Plane Quests.
Quest-o-Matic (For those who play on Avlis, this is the automated quest
system that allows you to get random delivery type quests from
different npcs)

The Arkaz Team is looking for a few good men, or women, to join us. We
currently need another DM and an area builder. If you are interested
please either send an email to staff@arkaz.com or PM a team member.

Some of you may have noticed a Donat-o-Meter on the website. I thought
I'd take a moment and explain to you why it's there. Right now the
cost of the world isn't that high. I continue to cover the cost of the
power and internet and will continue to do so. With only 3 servers it's
not much of a hit. However our 3 servers can be broken down as
follows:

A P3, 1ghz system which runs the Data Base.
A Athlon 1700 System which is hosting The Isle of Iron
A Athlon 2400 System which is hosting the Island of Nuvar.

All donations will be used to upgrade those current machines so that we
can, atleast we hope, stay ahead of the bad Lag Monster. Also the
donations will be saved up to allow us to acquire a forth server once we
are ready for the next Island to go live. Donating is not required to
play.

Again to those of you who play here on a normal basis we look forward
to seeing you IG, for those that don't we look forward to seeing you
during those times you honor us by being here.
