History

The daughter of Pelagia and Dertmore, Avani is known as the Guardian. This child embodies the gentler and more nurturing aspects of her parents.

Like her more violent sibling, Avani understands that Nature is ruled equally by random chance and natural law. Unlike Jaeger, she feels that the mere presence of someone who can help is the random chance that fulfills natural law. Therefore it is the obligation of those who can help those weaker to do so.

Avani is gentle and patient. She expects her followers to aid those in need, especially those weaker than themselves. Also, she will give aid to anyone who comes to her, no matter their affiliation. It would have to be an unusually vile individual who had repeatedly betrayed her kindness for Avani to refuse them.

Not only does Avani encourage healing of the sick and weak which makes her good friends with Olyrn, she is also is known for increasing the fertility of animal and plant alike. People seeking to have a child or seeking to increase the yield of their crops or animals will ask for Avani’s blessing.

Her followers help where they are needed. Her faithful can be found wandering the wilderness or (when possible) the waters, healing sick wildlife or nurturing a struggling patch of flowers. Although loathe to resort to violence, her followers consider themselves guardians and will step in to protect as best they can. It must be noted that they do recognize natural law. They will not stop a cougar from bringing down a boar nor a human hunter seeking to feed his family or defend himself. However, they will intervene if they see someone abusing the land or its creatures.

Avani prefers beautiful offerings from nature. Flowers are a favored choice. Her shrine is a welcoming glade that is lush with thriving plants and animal life. The music of running water is soothing and serves to remind visitors that Avani is the daughter of both Dertmore and Pelagia.
